Description from the seller

Verreries de Scailmont – Bedside water bottle, Art Deco in uranium glass – Belgium, circa 1930

Description

Bedside water bottle made by Verreries de Scailmont, Manage, Belgium, approximately around 1930.

The piece is crafted in pressed uranium glass and features an elaborate geometric Art Deco decoration, formed by alternating vertical panels with striations, stars and faceted motifs. The tall ribbed neck and the slightly conical body are characteristic of night services and dressing sets produced by Scailmont during this period.

Under normal lighting, the glass shows a delicate yellow-green hue. Under ultraviolet light it exhibits an intense green fluorescence, visible in the photographs. The presence of uranium has also been confirmed by a radiation detector, with an approximate reading of 40.98 cpm in the shown measurement.

Good overall condition for its age. It shows small bubbles, mold imperfections, manufacturing marks, slight deposits and signs of use typical of antique pressed glass. The images are an essential part of the description.
