Elegant pair of decanters in the form of a classic amphora, made in solid brass, handcrafted in Italy around the 1950s.

Formal description
Each piece features a bulging, harmonious body that gracefully narrows toward the cylindrical neck, terminating in a circular pedestal foot with a toroidal profile and a light ovate molding.

The tall, sinuous, ribbon-like handle rises from the neck and gracefully connects to the shoulder; its line is pure and proportioned, typical of Italian decorative taste in the postwar period.
The mid-band, relief in high relief, is the true strength of the workmanship: a continuous frieze of blooming roses, grape clusters, leaves, and tendrils, molded with rich detail and good plastic volume. The relief, produced by repoussé and chasing, still retains good edge sharpness and a pleasant depth.

Material and finish
Solid brass of good alloy, with the characteristic warm patina and slightly brownish tint that naturally forms over time. The surface shows the usual aging traces of the era (small oxidation spots, light signs of use), which confer authenticity without compromising the overall appearance.

State of conservation
Good overall condition.
The handles are stable and well-soldered, the bases are intact and flat, the reliefs show no significant missing elements. No obvious repairs, no holes or major dents. This is a well-preserved pair, ready for decorative use.

Character and use
These decanters represent a typical example of Italian artisanal production from the 1950s, when brass was worked with a classical yet simplified taste, intended for mid-to-high quality home decor.
They can be used as vases (also with fresh or dried flowers), as decorative elements on a console, fireplace, or table, or as vintage Italian design collectible pieces.
