Mdina - Michael Harris - Vase - Glass - "TRAILING THREAD"

This unusual vase with trailing glass threads on a marble-like design was designed by Michael Harris in the 1960's. The cloudy background design was much used by Mdina in the second half of the 20th century and goes by the name "Spatter``. The trailing turquoise glass has been cleverly wound around the hexagonal vase, starting at the base and terminating just before the neck (see photos 2 and 5). The vase is finished with turquoise at the top.
Mdina used natural colours for their products, reflecting the sea and landscape surrounding this lovely Mediterranean island.

The condition is excellent with only very slight scratching on the base due to movement.
This pretty and unusual Mdina vase is waiting for a place in a glass and/or Mdina glass collection.
