Medsan’s 2026 unique giclée, titled Kiki's Delivery Service Pappercut, is a 40 × 40 cm hand-signed work on a wooden panel in a Pop Art style with a Culture Pop depiction of Kiki the witch in kirie.
Description from the seller
ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1
With this square-format artwork, Medsan pays homage to Kiki's Delivery Service, the emblematic film by Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, translating it into the language of kirie, the Japanese art of paper-cutting.
The treatment recreates the entire finesse of kirie in multiple layers: silhouettes carved in night blue and cream, superimposed to create relief and depth, with a flat gold moon and swirling cloud skies inspired by prints. The young witch, a red ribbon in her hair, flies on her broom above a city with traditional Japanese roofs, her faithful black cat Jiji perched behind her. The cartouche メドサン signs the work.
The piece marries the poetry of learning and emancipation, heart of Miyazaki's film, with the delicacy of ancestral craft. Kiki's flight, symbol of independence and coming of age, takes on in cut paper an elegance of a timeless tale.
A delicate and dreamy piece, ideal for bringing a poetic and Japanese-inspired touch to a contemporary interior of a collector of Ghibli and Japanese art.

About the Atelier:
Atelier Joconde is a workshop of artists gathered around a living and plural contemporary creation. Installed as a true hub of artistic production, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. By his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo is part of a more instinctive quest, blending abstract art, naive art and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, realized and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
