Description from the seller
Eleonora Stol (1946–2022) was a Dutch artist best known for her expressive, colorful and emotionally charged paintings and graphic works. She was born in Leiden and studied at the Vrije Academie in The Hague, and then worked for a long time from Amsterdam. Her artist name was also “La Roja,” referencing her preference for bold colors, with red as a recurring theme in her life and work.
Stol’s work is characterized by vibrant color, dynamic forms and an intuitive painting style in which passion, love, dance and dream imagery play a major role. She frequently used mixed techniques, including acrylics, oil paint and pencil, giving her works a rich, textured appearance that directly engages emotion. Her art is described as lively, energetic and full of movement, almost as if the canvases “breathe.”
Dimensions of the work: 140 x 200 cm
The work is on view at our gallery. Additionally, Art Dumay operates a picture framing shop (this year celebrating its 85th anniversary) and a restoration studio. So if you would like to use these services, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
Shipping is possible and will be arranged after the sale. For questions please contact us.
