Large ecclesiastical floor candlestick from the 1930s – presumably brass

Impressive large floor candlestick with a stately ecclesiastical appearance, probably dating from the 1930s. Thanks to its generous height, classical design and warm gold color, this object forms a particularly decorative centerpiece in any interior.

The candlestick has a wide, profiled base that provides a stable stand. The long stem features a beautiful spiral decorative relief and is interrupted halfway by a graceful formed intermediate ring. At the top there is a deep candle cup with a richly open-work, crown-shaped edge.

Central in the cup is a tall candleholder, suitable for a substantial church candle or altar candle. The elegant silhouette and subdued ornamentation fit well within the ecclesiastical and Gothic Revival interior tradition of the early twentieth century.

A characterful object that can be used not only as a candlestick, but also beautifully stands out as a sculptural decorative piece in a hall, living room, chapel, hotel, hospitality venue or historic interior.

Condition

The candlestick is in good, authentic vintage condition with age- and use-related signs. On the surface there are local discolorations, small stains, scratches, patina and light oxidation traces visible. In the candle cup there are traces of prior use and candle wax. These signs of use emphasize the original character and age of the object.
