Orationum Pars I.
 Cum correctionibus Pauli Manutii.
Venetiis, apud Aldi filios, 1554

Elegant edition aldina in 8° (mm 151 × 91), bound in contemporary parchment (slightly later) with a manuscript title on the spine (“Cic: Orati: P.I”) and catalog card numbered 165.

Collation: carta (8), 323 (= 646 pp.), (2).
Aldine printer’s device (anchor and dolphin) on the title page and at the end.

The volume contains the first part of Cicero’s Orationes, revised and corrected by Paolo Manuzio. It opens with the orations Pro P. Quintio, Pro Sex. Roscio Amerino, Pro A. Caecina, Pro Sex. Roscio Comoedo and proceeds with the famous Verrinae (books I–VII of the indictment against Verres) and other orations.

Exemplar with possession annotations; on the front fly-leaf a printed bookplate of Lucius Mariani of Rome, dated 1881. Marks of worming in some cases affect the text especially in the final part.
