Description from the seller
A0000004667
The fountain pen presents an overall very good condition, in line with its age, notably preserving its original aesthetics and functionality. The body in gray striated cellulose acetate maintains a good definition of the longitudinal lines, with the ink window still showing transparency, allowing proper viewing of the ink level.
There are light surface marks typical of use and the passage of time, without affecting the material’s integrity or its visual appeal.
The cap, in black cellulose acetate, is in good structural condition, with normal signs of use such as micro-scratches and light wear in the areas most frequently handled. The metal elements plated in gold (clip and rings) retain a good presence, with possible light wear to the plating at specific points, something common in pieces from this era.
The piston-filler system has been serviced and operates correctly, ensuring smooth and safe operation. The pen is delivered fully operational. The 14K gold nib offers a smooth and consistent writing experience, with a slight stroke variation characteristic of these vintage models.
No significant structural cracks are evident, which is especially important in cellulose acetate pieces of this age. Overall, it is a well-preserved, functional specimen, ready for use or collection.
Conservation recommendations
It is recommended to use high-quality inks designed for fountain pens, avoiding pigmented inks. If not in prolonged use, clean with lukewarm water, dry completely before storing, and keep in a dry place away from direct light and extreme temperatures. Operate the filling system gently to preserve the mechanism.
It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation. Happy bidding!
