Japanese circular iron tsuba with a symmetrical openwork orchid design, diameter 7.5 cm, dating to 1930–1940, in very good plus condition with natural patina and authentic traces of use around the nakago-ana.

Japanese Sword Fitting:
An exquisite antique Japanese circular iron *tsuba* (sword guard) featuring an elegant openwork (*sukashi*) orchid design.
Crafted from solid iron, the surface displays a deep, natural patina developed over time. The *nakago-ana* (tang opening) is finely executed and retains authentic traces of historical use. Both sides of the guard feature symmetrical floral openwork, showcasing superb craftsmanship and the distinctive style of traditional Japanese metalwork.
Diameter: Approx. 7.5 cm.
Condition: Good, with a natural patina consistent with its age. Free from cracks, severe dents, or signs of repair, showing only minor traces of historical wear. It can also serve as a lid rest for a tea kettle in a tea ware collection.
