Cartier Cougar Must de Cartier fountain pen, black resin body with gold-plated fittings, 18k gold nib, 13 cm long and 1.1 cm in diameter, origin France, late 20th century, in good used condition and fully functional, with original red Cartier case.
Description from the seller
The Cartier Cougar Must de Cartier fountain pen presented in this lot is in excellent overall condition, showing a very well cared-for appearance fully in line with a piece of its category and era.
The body and cap in black resin with a gadroon pattern are preserved with very good shine and definition in the vertical grooves, with no material loss or deformations. The surface shows only very light signs of superficial use, practically imperceptible to the naked eye and typical of careful handling over time. The set maintains an elegant and very attractive aesthetic.
The gold-plated elements — clip, rings and fittings — present a bright and uniform finish, with excellent visual presence. No significant wear is observed on the plating and the pieces maintain their structural and aesthetic integrity.
The 18-carat solid gold nib (750), engraved with the Cartier emblem, is in very good condition, correctly aligned and retaining a clean tip. The feed keeps its fins in perfect structural condition, ensuring proper ink flow regulation.
The writing system has been inspected and tested for proper operation, delivering the piece fully operable and ready to write, as is customary for pieces prepared by Collecting Legacy.
Also included is its original Cartier red box, which shows a good overall condition with light storage-related signs.
Overall, this is a very well-preserved fountain pen, elegant and perfectly functional, ideal for both everyday use and collection.
Conservation recommendations
To preserve the pen in optimal condition, use high-quality inks specifically for fountain pens, avoiding pigmented inks or inks with particles. If the pen will not be used for a prolonged period, it is advisable to clean it with lukewarm water, dry it properly before storing, and keep it in a dry place away from direct light and extreme temperatures. It is also recommended to operate the filling system gently to maintain the mechanism in perfect condition over time.
It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
