Thierry Mugler vintage green polyester two-piece suit for women, blazer and coordinated skirt, size FR 42, made in France, worn once and in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Light green elegant suit consists of a double-breasted, nipped-in blazer and a coordinated skirt with cutwork and zip closure. Size FR 42. Excellent condition worn on a single occasion.
Thierry Mugler circa the 1990s. It is part of the famous Thierry Mugler Spring-Summer 1996 show, one of the designer's most iconic collections, known for uniting strong sartorial architecture with elegant silhouettes and lightweight fabrics. The sculptural cut: The jacket features vertical curved seams along the bust that shape and emphasize the waist (the classic Mugler exaggerated hourglass silhouette).
Details of the cuffs: The characteristic wide turned-up cuffs on the sleeve hems give fluidity to the blazer's geometric precision.
The architectural pockets: The pocket flaps are shaped and protruding, cut strategically to give geometric volume to the hips, balancing the structured shoulders.
Archive pieces from this collection maintain a very high collectible value in the luxury vintage market. The suit stands out for unique structural details that embody the futuristic sculptural aesthetic of the house.
