The case is richly decorated with copper/brass fittings, including ornate corner pieces, a central rosette on the lid, and a decorative key plate. When the lid is opened, the two top compartments swing outward to the sides on hinges, revealing a spacious underlying storage compartment.
The interior is still lined with the original fabric.
The box stands on four wooden ball feet.
