Description from the seller
Vintage Hand-Carved Wooden Half-Hull Model Plaque - Motor Yacht / Barca Modello in Legno
A beautiful artigianale (handcrafted) wooden half-model representing a classic mid-century motor yacht, acquired in Italy. This type of presentation piece is a direct nod to traditional naval architecture, where shipwrights carved exact half-sections of a hull to calculate displacement and evaluate symmetry before full-scale production.
This elegant barca modello in legno is meticulously constructed from fine polished hardwood, showcasing a sleek hull that beautifully highlights the rich, natural movement of the wood grain. The detailed cabin superstructure features an open forward deck area, two slender upright wooden masts, and three decorative oval brass portholes that catch the light wonderfully.
The entire half-hull is flush-mounted onto a solid, dark green paper-covered wooden backing board, which is handsomely framed by a natural wood border. A striking, ready-to-hang piece of maritime art that serves as a sophisticated wall decoration for any nautical, mid-century modern, or coastal interior.
In very good vintage condition. Please inspect all photos carefully to evaluate the natural wood finish, paper backing texture, and minor historic surface wear consistent with its age.
NOTE: For collectors who prefer a flawless appearance, any imperfections can be assessed and, if desired, professionally restored by a specialist experienced in working with this type of material.
Shipping: The item will be carefully packed and shipped with tracking. Insurance is included in the shipping fee. Any customs duties, taxes or import fees are the buyer's responsibility.
Disclaimer: All items offered are privately owned. While we are not professional appraisers, restorers, or conservators, we make every effort to describe each item honestly, accurately, and as comprehensively as possible. Any visible signs of wear, imperfections, or damage observed during our inspection are disclosed to the best of our knowledge and shown in the accompanying photographs.
