Magnificent antique figurine of Augustus Rex in the Meissen style

As the mark "Augustus Rex" could only be used by Meissen for Augustus the Strong, painters at the Meissen manufactory began at the start of the 19th century to reproduce these products in certain small workshops in the Dresden region. At first, the quality of these items was still largely identical to that of Meissen products, but during the 19th century they became increasingly simplified and marked.
