PSI - Manifesto politico originale - 1970s

Original manifesto of the Italian Socialist Party (PSI) created for the May 1, 1972 campaign, in conjunction with the political elections of May of the same year.

The manifesto presents one of the most effective images of socialist communication in the early 1970s: the large slogan "W L'UNITÀ SINDACALE" in bright red on a photographic background, accompanied by the historic symbol of the PSI.

At the bottom appears the inscription:
"1 MAY 1972 – Fight with the vote PSI"

The copy was printed by Stabilimento Grafico Editoriale Fratelli Spada in Ciampino (Rome) in April 1972 for the PSI’s Press and Propaganda Section.

This manifesto represents a significant testimony of Italian political graphics of the period, characterized by a direct, essential visual language with strong communicative impact. The subject is also documented in the archives of the Lelio and Lisli Basso Foundation dedicated to Italian political communication.

Conditions
A major vertical tear affects much of the height of the sheet; the damage has been consolidated on the back through conservative restoration with Japanese paper.
The intervention is stable and well executed; on the front the tear line remains visible in some areas but does not significantly compromise the aesthetic impact of the manifesto.
There are also light creases, small signs of wear, and minimal defects at the corners compatible with age.
The photographs are an integral part of the description.
