Large hand-painted walnut-root wood tray, 70 × 50 cm, dating to circa 1900–1930, signed, with a raised edge and two integrated handles.
Description from the seller
Lot description
This elegant and exceptionally decorative large tray is crafted from beautifully figured walnut wood (or comparable veneer) and richly adorned with a hand-painted still life featuring blooming yellow roses. The warm wood tone forms a beautiful contrast with the soft hues of the flowers, creating a timeless and atmospheric whole.
The painting is clearly brush-painted; the brushstrokes and subtle impasto are visible in several places. This confirms that it is not print, but an authentic hand-painted decoration. In the upper right corner there is also a signature, which makes the object even more interesting.
The tray is finished with an elegant raised edge and two integrated handles, making it both practical and decorative. It can serve as a luxurious serving tray, but is also especially suitable as wall art or as a centerpiece on a coffee table, sideboard, or ottoman.
The combination of the rich wood veneer, the romantic rose composition, and the refined execution make this a characterful object that fits well within both classical and eclectic interiors.

Solid wood frame with walnut veneer
Warm patinated surface
Period: circa 1900–1930
