Belonging to one of the artist's most celebrated and sought-after series. True to his characteristic informalist style, in these portfolios Tàpies uses the repetition and distortion of everyday objects laden with mystical, philosophical, and political symbolism. This series revolves primarily around the iconography of the chair, a mundane piece of furniture that, for Tàpies, represented both human absence and meditation or torture. "Cannage" refers to the weaving of cane or wicker, usually associated with the seat of such chairs, exploring geometric textures, dark gestural marks, and the tonal sobriety characteristic of his work from the 1980s.

The shipment is made in a 15 cm diameter tube, to safely preserve the condition of the artwork.
