Description from the seller
Beautiful handmade ceramic pinecone decorative ornaments in a single brown or white color. The Sicilian pine cone is a symbol of luck and good omens for the recipient. Modern design while maintaining the classic style of Caltagirone ceramic.
In ancient Greece, the pine cone represented the god of male fertility, Dionysus, who had a pine cone adorning the top of his staff. As part of Greek beliefs, fertility generates prosperity, and when one is blessed with prosperity, this naturally shares with others. In other ancient cultures, pine cones are symbols of spiritual wisdom, representing the third eye — awakened inner transcendence toward enlightenment. According to more modern interpretations, pine cones are thought to attract prosperity into one's home. The pine cone is a significant symbol. Botanically it is a reproductive entity: female cones contain seeds, while male cones contain pollen. Each one has been shaped and applied by hand. Sicilian pine cones are symbols of an ancient tradition passed down from generation to generation to the present day.
