Dreadnought
This is by far the most popular body shape for acoustic guitars among players.
In every music style you’ll find them, and on stage they are a frequently used instrument among rhythm players, supporting their singing voice.
Dreadnought guitars are known for their deep body, which is immediately noticeable in the rich bass tones.

The top of the body is made of two pieces of solid spruce that are glued together. Spruce wood comes mainly from Canada and is recognizable by its slightly darker color and is slightly heavier than Engelmann spruce. The fineness of the grain affects the tone. The best spruce grows in colder regions and mountain areas where the tree grows slowly with thin annual rings. Its strength and elasticity translate into a wide dynamic range and sharp articulation, making it suitable for everything from aggressive picking to flatpicking fingerpicking. For the sides and back, laminated wood parts are used, which are less dynamic and forceful than solid parts. An advantage is that it is less sensitive to temperature and humidity changes. Mahogany represents the midrange frequencies, resulting in a warm, sustaining tone.

It consists of three pieces of mahogany: neck, center (soundboard), and heel. This gives the guitar stability and reduces the risk of twisting. Of course, an adjustable truss rod is built in. The connection to the body is a so-called dovetail neck joint, a diagonally running joint with a reinforcement in the soundbox. These parts are glued together.
Fretboard
Ovangkol has been used for the fretboard. Many guitars have a rosewood fretboard; ovangkol is the African variant. It gives the guitar a slightly warmer mid-range, and this hardwood is also used for the bridge.
