Description:
Up for sale is an exclusive collectible from Cartier: an original pair of sunglasses from the legendary “Edition Santos-Dumont” with the elegant removable leather accent on the bridge.
The gold-plated frame is in pristine, scratch-free condition and has been extremely well cared for. The glasses come as a complete "Full Set" with all original accessories (box, case, and booklet).
Glasses note:
The lenses are 100% original. There are no deep scratches on the lenses. Over the years, due to gentle cleaning, only the fine anti-reflective coating on the lenses has partially peeled in places because of aging.
Important: When wearing the glasses, this is completely invisible from the inside and does not affect visibility or comfort in any way.
To ensure absolute transparency, we attempted to depict this effect in direct light in the last photos.
Since these are the original first-generation lenses, they were intentionally not replaced in order to preserve the authentic vintage character of the Full Set. The future owner can either wear the glasses exactly as they are in their original state or have the lenses swapped by an optician to their liking.
An absolute highlight for any Cartier and vintage collection.
