Leonetto Cappiello - Aix-les-Bains - 1970s

Splendid advertising poster “Aix-les-Bains” signed by Leonetto Cappiello and dated 1921, one of the greatest masters of international poster art, famous for his elegant compositions and strong visual impact.

Note: This is a later edition from the 1970s.

The work depicts a sophisticated female figure with a red dress and a feathered headdress, immersed in a suggestive nocturnal atmosphere that recalls the charm and prestige of the renowned French spa town. The intense color rendering, with contrasts between the deep blue of the background and the warm tones of the dress, is typical of Cappiello’s unmistakable style.

At the bottom the artist’s signature and the print “Devambez Imp. Paris”, a historic Paris printer, are visible, a detail that faithfully recalls the original edition and increases its decorative and collectible value.
