Description from the seller

This elegant design table lamp from Van de Heg (Van den Heuvel) is a beautiful example of Dutch lighting design from the seventies and eighties. The lamp is distinguished by its architectural form, high-quality materials, and timeless appearance. The design features a minimalist, geometric composition in which functionality and aesthetics come together in harmonious fashion.

The heavy square foot and the slender square column are made from high-quality chromed steel. The mirrored finish gives the lamp a luxurious look and causes the ambient light to be reflected subtly. The rectangular fabric lampshade, in a warm taupe/gray-beige tint with a dark trim, forms a nice contrast with the cool chrome and spreads a pleasant, diffused light.

The asymmetrical design gives the lamp a modern, almost architectural appearance that recalls Dutch functionalist design from the same period. As a result, the lamp fits effortlessly within a range of interior styles such as Mid-Century Modern, Modernism, Minimalism, Contemporary, and even Hollywood Regency.

When the lamp is lit, a particularly atmospheric lighting effect is created. The shade illuminates evenly while a subtle beam of light is projected upward and downward at the same time. This creates a warm ambiance without irritating glare. The lamp is therefore ideal as mood lighting on a sideboard, desk, sidetable, or nightstand. The lamp has a small damage to the shade; see photos.

The lamp is equipped with a standard E27 socket, allowing almost any modern LED, filament, or incandescent bulb to be used. The operation is via the switch on the cord.
