Description from the seller
Artistic reproduction of the "Delomelanicon," the famous esoteric volume at the center of the film "The Ninth Gate." This edition has been almost entirely handmade by Massimo Mayde, with maniacal attention to materials, engravings, and visual rendering, designed to come as close as possible to the book “authentic” sought by the film's protagonist.
Main features:
Handcrafted realization — handmade binding, manually worked cover, pages treated to achieve an antique and ritual effect. Original illustrations — every plate is hand-drawn, not printed.
All illustrations bear the LCF signature, just like the “complete” and rarer version that in the film the evil collector pursues at all costs. Latin text — the book is written in Latin, but the sentences have no concrete meaning: a choice coherent with the grimorium’s aesthetic and its nature as a fictitious esoteric object. Esoteric atmosphere — according to the film’s plot, the volume would contain rituals capable of evoking the demon. This edition faithfully reproduces that imagery, without tipping into kitsch.
This is not a commercial replica: it is a collectible object, built as a unique artifact, with materials and techniques that give it a credible, “lived,” almost dangerous appearance.
The presence of all the LCF illustrations makes it particularly sought after by: fans of the film, collectors of esoteric objects, and set designers.
Ideal for: cinema and prop enthusiasts, collectors of artisanal editions and ritual iconography, photographers and creatives seeking a unique on-screen object, collectors of rare handmade editions.
