Description from the seller
Elvis page (only 2 existing)
Ken W. Kelly (1946-2022) was an American fantasy artist best known for painting the iconic KISS album covers Destroyer and Love Gun, and for hundreds of horror-magazine covers for Warren Publishing's Creepy and Eerie in the 1970s. Related by marriage to Frank Frazetta, whose studio he studied in early in his career, Kelly became one of the leading heroic-fantasy painters of his generation, also illustrating Conan and Tarzan book covers and album art for bands including Manowar and Rainbow.
This is one of only two known painted Elvis pieces by Kelly, on thick board. Ken Kelly painted the full book on the life of Elvis Presley, including the cover, and sent it all to his publisher. The publisher went bankrupt before the comic was printed. All pages went missing except for 2; also a print of the comic cover he received back. Kelly sold me the 2 pages (1 is already gone) - all others have never been found, they were either stolen or -more likely- destroyed.
Kelly never did a comic again! He once made a 6 or 8 page story for Creepy, did this comic, but then concentrated on (cover) paintings only.
Print of the cover painting is included.
