Antique No. 0 Stirrup Hand Adze – Cast Steel Warranted – c. 1860–1980
A rare and highly characterful antique No. 0 stirrup hand adze, made for fine woodworking, cooperage and traditional timber work.
The compact forged steel blade is clearly stamped “CAST STEEL / WARRANTED” and “No 0”. It features the distinctive stirrup-style metal mounting and an attractive closed-loop wooden handle with a beautifully aged, dark patina.
The small No. 0 size makes this an especially interesting example for collectors of antique woodworking tools, shipwrights’ tools and traditional craftsmanship.
Condition: Good antique condition with authentic age-related wear and surface patina. The wooden handle is structurally sound and retains a wonderful original patina.
