Made by Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik (WMF) from silver-plated Britannia metal. Fully marked on the bottom with WMFB, ostrich mark, “as” and “I/O”. The markings indicate Britannia metal, an antiqued silver surface, and silver plating.
Luxuriously sculpted relief decoration with putti/child representations, roses, waterfowl, and floral motifs. The naturally designed handle integrates into the richly relief-decorated design.
The surface shows the characteristic dark patination with wear to the silvering from age and use, and, in places, warm metallic through-glimpses. Not magnetic.
