Italian Mid‑Century Modern glass dessert cup on a baluster stem, made of opacified incamiciato glass in green jade to mint, with a 21 cm diameter and 19.5 cm height, produced in Italy circa 1950–1960, in excellent condition with a tiny natural fusion imperfection at the inner bottom.
Description from the seller
Elegant and minimalist tall dessert cup on a stem, a goblet or ice-cream cup in a stem, made in precious opaque encased glass in jade green / mint green tones.
The piece stands out for its clean lines, typical of Italian design from the mid-20th century (Mid-Century Modern), with strong echoes of minimalist Art Deco forms. The baluster-shaped stem rises atop a flat circular base, while the cup features a flared, well-proportioned form.
The encased glasswork (layering of opaque milk glass) gives the piece a rich, satin, uniform color, highly sought after in vintage home furnishings.
Conditions: Excellent overall condition. No chips, cracks, or restorations. Only a very small natural imperfection of glass fusion on the inner bottom of the cup (visible in the last photo), typical of artisanal craftsmanship.
