This large crystal centerpiece from the famous Val Saint Lambert glassworks (Belgium) is a highly sculptural piece from the late 1950s, designed by René Delvenne. Its organic, freeform silhouette sweeps upward to create a light and elegant asymmetrical double handle. This is an uncommon model that beautifully showcases the sommerso technique, encasing a vibrant cranberry/fuchsia color gradient within thick walls of clear crystal. It is a substantial find, weighing a hefty 2750 g, with a height of 30 cm, a width of 25 cm, and a depth of 21 cm. Unsigned, which was regular for their art glass lines from this era, but its high-quality craftsmanship and origin are unmistakable.
