Description from the seller
Two great classics of Cartier's perfume house in the 1980s: Must de Cartier and Panthère de Cartier, both in Parfum format (perfume extrait).
1. Must de Cartier (Parfum – 50 ml refill)
Launched in 1981, it was the first fragrance created by the haute jewelry house Cartier.
Fragrance family: Oriental / Amber.
Characteristics: It was revolutionary for its time because it first combined the green bitterness of galbanum with the warm sweetness of vanilla and amber.
Indicative fragrance pyramid:
Top: Galbanum, bergamot, rosewood.
Heart: Jasmine, rose, clove, neroli.
Base: Vanilla, amber, sandalwood, civet, tonka bean.
Note on the packaging: The black box with gold engravings belongs to the early editions and contains the 50 ml refill (to be placed in the elegant golden metal holders signed Cartier).
2. Panthère de Cartier (Parfum – 4 ml miniature)
Launched in 1987, it is an iconic fragrance tied to the maison's quintessential symbol, the panther.
Fragrance family: Oriental Floral / Opulent White Flowers.
Characteristics: Created by master perfumer Alberto Morillas, it is a rich, enveloping fragrance that was very popular in the 1980s and 1990s.
Indicative fragrance pyramid:
Top: Angelica flower, plum, nutmeg, coriander.
Heart: Tuberose, gardenia, ylang-ylang, jasmine, clove.
Base: Civet, amber, sandalwood, oakmoss, patchouli.
Note on the bottle: The 4 ml miniature has the distinctive design with the burgundy/red body set between the sculpted lines of two panthers, resting on its gray display stand and accompanied by the original red box.
Collectible value: Being vintage formulations from the original era (in Parfum concentration, the purest and most intense), these bottles are highly valued by fragrance and vintage miniature collectors.
