Description from the seller

Beautiful Talavera ceramic vase signed by Ruiz de Luna, with an elegant bulging profile and cylindrical neck, entirely decorated with hand-painted motifs.

The piece features an attractive polychrome decoration painted by hand in the characteristic range of blues, ochres, yellows, greens and whites, with stylized floral motifs on the neck and a central composition of great decorative richness. On one side of the body stands out the representation of the Virgen de Guadalupe, identified by the inscription “NTRA. SRA. DE GUADALUPE,” while on the opposite face appears an architectural landscape with a castle, surrounded by trees, vegetation and small birds.

The decoration is completed with geometric and vegetal friezes on the neck, shoulder and bottom part, creating a visually striking ornamental ensemble. The spontaneous brushwork and the small variations in the motifs are typical of handmade decoration.

An especially attractive piece for collectors of Spanish Talavera pottery and Ruiz de Luna pieces, both for its decorative quality and for the combination of landscape, floral ornamentation and religious iconography.

Measurements:
Height: 25 cm
Maximum width: 17 cm

Condition: shows some small chips and occasional glaze losses, especially visible at the upper edge, consistent with use and the piece’s age. The decoration remains generally well preserved.

A piece of great presence, very decorative and with especially attractive iconography.
