Box - Papier-mache

Refined vintage box in Russian lacquer, handmade entirely with an extraordinary level of detail, created by the artist V. Kharchev at the famous Kholui miniature factory. The scene depicts the renowned legend of Oleg the Wise (Вещий Олег) with the skull of his horse at his feet. The lower part is embellished with a very rich and elegant baroque ornamental band gilded in gold leaf and mineral pigments. On the lid there are the original inscriptions in gold cursive:
On the left: Title of the work "Вещий Олег" (Oleg the Wise)
In the center: "п. Холуй" (Village of Kholui)
On the right: "исп. В. Харчев" (Executed by the artist V. Kharchev)
Inside, in the unmistakable bright red lacquered recess, is preserved the original paper certificate of origin dated 1982, complete with the Beriozka state store purchase seal.
