Box - Papier-mache

Splendid and uncommon vintage box in Russian lacquer characterized by the unusual and bright deep red background color (instead of the classic black). Entirely hand-painted by the artist Erimov at the famous artistic center of Kholui.
The detailed scene depicts the traditional fairy tale of Snegurochka (The Snow Maiden), portrayed in the center in light-colored garments, surrounded by folklore characters and fairy-tale figures in a fantastical landscape. The work is enriched with a rich ornate golden frame with small blue touches along the entire edge of the lid.
At the bottom on the lid are the original inscriptions finely written in gold:
On the left: the title of the fairy tale "Снегурочка" (Snegurochka)
In the center: "п. Холуй" (Village of Kholui)
On the right: "исп. Еримов" (Executed by the artist Erimov)
Inside is preserved and affixed the original certificate/original label from the era (dated 07.02.1983), complete with the stamp of the Soviet state shop Beriozka.
