Very beautiful antique table of Benares type, probably from the early 20th century, consisting of a large circular brass top finely engraved, resting on a remarkable carved wooden pedestal.
The top features a particularly rich decoration executed in concentric friezes: elephants and other animals, figures, figurative scenes, floral and geometric motifs, with a central rosette.
The pedestal is also highly worked: six turned and carved feet, light inlays, crossed crossbars and decorative panels made of small turned wood elements. The top is removable and the pedestal can be folded.
The whole has a very beautiful antique patina, with scratches, small marks and oxydations corresponding to its age and visible in the photographs. I deliberately kept it in its aged condition rather than risking losing its patina through excessive polishing.
