Description from the seller
A0000004667
The pen is in very good overall condition for its age, notably retaining its original aesthetic and functionality. The striped gray celluloid body maintains a good definition of the longitudinal lines, with visibility of the ink window still allowing a proper view of the fill level. Subtle surface marks from use and the passage of time are present, but they do not affect the material's integrity or its visual appeal.
The cap, made of black celluloid, is structurally sound, showing normal signs of use such as micro-scratches and slight wear in the areas of most handling. The gold-plated metal elements (clip and rings) remain in good condition, with possible light wear to the plating at specific points, typical for pieces from this era.
The piston fill system has been serviced and functions correctly, ensuring smooth and secure loading. The pen is delivered fully operational. The 14K gold nib offers a smooth and consistent writing feel, though a slight stroke variation characteristic of these vintage models may be present.
No relevant structural fissures are observed, which is especially important for celluloid pieces of this age. Overall, this is a well-preserved, functional example ready for use or collection.
Preservation recommendations
It is recommended to use high-quality inks made for fountain pens, avoiding pigmented inks. If not in use for an extended period, clean with warm water, dry completely before storing, and keep in a dry place away from direct light and extreme temperatures. Operate the filling system gently to preserve the mechanism.
It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation. Happy bidding!
