Description from the seller

A0000003945

The Cartier Cougar Must de Cartier fountain pen presented in this lot is in excellent overall condition, showing a very well‑cared appearance fully in line with a piece of its category and era.

The body and cap in black resin with a grooved pattern are preserved with very good shine and definition in the vertical grooves, with no material losses or deformations. The surface shows only tiny signs of superficial use, practically imperceptible to the naked eye and typical of careful handling over time. The overall look remains elegant and highly attractive.

The gold‑plated elements — clip, rings and finishes — have a bright and uniform finish, with excellent visual presence. No significant wear is observed on the plating and the pieces maintain their structural and aesthetic integrity.

The 18‑carat solid gold nib (750), engraved with the Cartier emblem, is in very good condition, correctly aligned and preserving a clean tip. The feed keeps its fins in perfect structural state, ensuring proper ink flow regulation.

The writing system has been inspected and tested for proper operation, delivering the piece fully operational and ready to write, as is customary in pieces prepared by Collecting Legacy.

Also included is its original Cartier red‑colored case, which shows a good overall condition with slight normal signs of storage.

Overall, it is a very well‑preserved fountain pen, elegant and perfectly functional, ideal for both daily use and collection.

Conservation recommendations

To preserve the pen in optimal condition, it is recommended to use high‑quality fountain pen inks, avoiding pigment inks or inks with particles. If the pen will not be used for an extended period, it is advisable to clean it with lukewarm water, dry it properly before storing, and keep it in a dry place, away from direct light and extreme temperatures. Likewise, it is recommended to operate the filling system gently to maintain the mechanism in perfect condition over time.

It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper conservation.

Happy bidding!
