Description from the seller

Hermès Square « 1789 - Liberty, Equality, Fraternity » – Bicentennial Edition 1989
Magnificent Hermès silk twill square created in 1989 on the occasion of the French Revolution bicentennial.
Designed by Joachim Metz, this emblematic model celebrates the great symbols of the French Republic through a rich and detailed composition blending a Phrygian cap, the tricolor cockade, fasces, oak leaves and the Declaration of the Rights of Man.
This commemorative edition has never been reissued by Hermès, which makes it a particularly prized piece among collectors of antique squares and enthusiasts of historic models.
Specifications: • Brand: Hermès Paris • Model: 1789 - Liberty, Equality, Fraternity • Designer: Joachim Metz • Year: 1989 • Material: 100% silk twill • Made in France • Dimensions: approximately 90 x 90 cm • Hand-rolled hems
Condition: The square shows very beautiful colors, still vivid and bright. The silk retains a fine appearance and the design remains particularly striking.
Noteworthy: • storage folds visible • small brownish stain present on the pattern, visible in the close-up photos
Apart from this point, the square is in good condition and constitutes a fine Hermès collection piece, increasingly rare on the market.
