Description from the seller
A distinguished sideboard of superb craftsmanship in Liberty Art Nouveau style, estimable around the years 1900-1920, made of solid wood. The central body has two doors and a central drawer, an open compartment, and two upper doors in silkscreened glass with stylized floral motifs. On the sides there are two tall columns characterized by a lower door, a central drawer and an upper silkscreened glass door. All the shelves are solid wood; those of the two outer columns are fully lined with a wood-colored film on the upper part. Splendid veneer enhanced at the top by wood inlays with fruit motifs. In the central body there is a gray marble top with white veins and a mirror with beveling on each side. Bronze handles, key-operated locks. Conditions: very good, the sideboard shows some signs of time with a few scratches and small dents; the marble top has two grooves but can be re-polished. Under a shelf (as evidenced by the attached photo) there are several stamps bearing the inscription “W. BENITO MUSSOLINI,” testifying to the historicity of the piece.
