Crystal paperweight sculpture by Studio Crystal (Val Saint Lambert), Belgium, from 1980–1990, measuring 20 cm high, 7 cm wide and 20 cm deep, in excellent condition with only minor signs of wear.
Description from the seller
This paperweight, evoking a Christmas tree, comes from Studio Crystal, established within a crystal factory at the end of the 20th century.
The fact that the 9 tetrahedra are joined together indicates that the piece belongs to their contemporary art sculpture collection. Each of these tetrahedra is bounded by clearly defined edges, which distinguishes this object from those created at Daim or Baccarat.
In 1989, the crystal works opened Studio Crystal, a laboratory where designers played with pure geometric forms. A 20 cm tree made from a single block of tetrahedra makes perfect sense here, conceived as a monumental paperweight or a very weighty tabletop sculpture.
The object features a multitude of angles, the vast majority of which are in perfect condition. The photos attest to the exceptional state of this paperweight.
There is, unfortunately, no signature.
