Antique maritime Morse signal lantern (also known as a blinker light)
Operation and shutter:
The large lever on the side/rear is connected to an internal metal filter system or slatted screen around the light source. By pressing the lever rhythmically, the light is briefly revealed to signal dots and dashes.
Radio silence:
This type of lamp was essential for naval ships and convoys during World War I and World War II to send encoded messages to each other in absolute radio silence.
Period:
This type of oil-fed Morse signaling lantern dates mainly from the period 1910–1945 (often used around World War I and World War II).
Operation is in good condition.
Height: 38 cm
