Louis Vuitton Cartouchière GM in Monogram canvas with natural cowhide leather trim, dust bag included, dimensions 28 cm wide × 8 cm deep × 21 cm high, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Authentic Louis Vuitton Cartouchière GM crafted in the House’s iconic Monogram canvas with natural cowhide leather trim and adjustable shoulder strap. This is a particularly attractive example of early Louis Vuitton production, dating from the period before the Maison introduced internal production/date codes in the 1980s. The absence of a date code is therefore consistent with a bag of this period and makes it especially appealing to collectors looking for genuine early Louis Vuitton pieces.
The classic messenger-style construction features a large flap secured by a leather strap. The interior is completely leather lined and divided into two separate compartments. The “LOUIS VUITTON PARIS made in France” marking is impressed directly into the leather beneath the flap.
The Monogram canvas remains attractive and well preserved considering the age of the piece. The natural leather has developed an authentic patina over the decades and shows signs, marks and variations in tone consistent with its age and use. Overall the bag remains in good vintage condition.
Dimensions: W 28 cm / 11.02 in × D 8 cm / 3.15 in × H 21 cm / 8.27 in. Adjustable shoulder strap approximately 112 cm / 44.09 in.
Early Louis Vuitton pieces produced before the introduction of date codes have a distinctive character and craftsmanship that make them particularly interesting to vintage enthusiasts and collectors.
The photographs have been taken on an amateur basis, without filters, professional photographic equipment or special lighting. Consequently, the colours displayed may differ slightly from the actual colours of the item.
Please bid only if you genuinely intend to complete the purchase. An unpaid winning bid prevents other interested bidders from acquiring the item, wastes their time and shows a lack of respect towards both the auction house and the other bidders.
