History
Introduced in the late 1960s, the Seiko Lord Matic line was positioned just below the King Seiko and Grand Seiko ranges, offering high quality automatic movements and sophisticated case designs. The 5600 series of calibers became known for their refined engineering and slim profiles, allowing for sleek case architecture. During the 1970s, Seiko experimented boldly with faceted crystals and vibrant colored dials, reflecting the dynamic aesthetic trends of the decade. These expressive configurations remain highly appreciated by collectors today for their distinct period character and reliable mechanical design.
