Statue, Madonna met kind - 30 cm - Porcelain

This figurine is known as Old Brussels porcelain (Vieux Bruxelles) or Old Paris porcelain and dates from the 19th century (around 1850–1900). It is recognizable by the characteristic gilded accents, the fine painting, and the octagonal base with the gilded 'MA' monogram (for Maria). In the past they sometimes inserted gypsum inside to hold a small iron rod to prevent it from tipping, but it is in good condition. The size of the figurine is 30 cm; the width of the base is 11 cm.
