• Hand Signed by the Artist • Unique Original Artwork • Certificate of Authenticity Included • Ready to Frame This outstanding original pencil artwork by Joan Vizcarra captures Scrooge McDuck at his most unmistakable: suspicious, stubborn and magnificently bad-tempered. Leaning firmly on his cane, with his top hat, spectacles and an intense sideways stare, Scrooge seems to be guarding every last coin of his fortune. There is no elaborate setting needed here. His expression and body language tell the entire story, making the image immediately recognisable and full of personality. Hand-drawn entirely in pencil, the piece is especially striking for the richness of its graphite technique. Vizcarra builds the character through energetic layers of shading, from the deep blacks of the hat and coat to softer greys across the face and background. The visible pencil strokes give the drawing texture and movement, while highlights left in the paper create light across Scrooge’s hat, glasses and clothing. Rather than hiding the drawing process, the piece celebrates it. Lines, pressure, graphite and shading remain visible throughout, allowing the viewer to see the artist’s hand behind the finished image. Up close, these marks give the original a physical character and warmth that cannot be reproduced in a print. ▸ Pencil on art paper ▸ Format: 42 x 30 cm (unframed) ▸ Unique original artwork ▸ Hand signed by the artist Joan Vizcarra is one of Spain’s most recognised illustrators, admired for his exceptional drawing skills and highly expressive approach to character.
