Great 19th-century Dutch Staten Bible, published by A.W. Sijthoff in Leiden.

Full title: Bible, that is the Whole Holy Scripture, containing all the canonical books of the Old and New Testaments. Published according to the Statenvertaling, with the complete notes to the best edition of Keur, in the spelling of that time.

The book contains the Old and New Testament and is provided with illustrated plates, including an image of the Tabernacle and Solomon’s Temple. At the front there is a handwritten dating “Anno 1877”.

An impressive large format and a decorative historical specimen, of interest to collectors of old Bibles, religious books, and Dutch book history.

Condition: authentic, used condition fitting for a book of about 150 years old. The binding shows clear wear and damage to the spine and edges. The interior also shows signs of age and discoloration. See photos for a good impression of the condition.
