This original pencil drawing by Juan Giménez is the preliminary artwork created for the cover of Segments Vol. 1: Lexipolis, written by Richard Malka and published by Glénat.
The drawing documents the development of the published cover at an early stage of Giménez’s creative process. The two principal characters and the essential structure of the final composition are already established, together with the futuristic weapons and technological details characteristic of his science-fiction imagery.
Executed in graphite, the piece retains construction lines, corrections and compositional decisions that reveal how the final cover was developed. These elements make the drawing particularly significant as an original preparatory piece directly connected to a published image.
