Oil lamp - Old mining lamp - Glass, Brass

This antique mining lamp is made of copper and has the distinctive shape of a safety lamp, with a perforated top cap with ventilation holes, a glass cylinder surrounded by metal guard bars, and a carrying handle on top provided with a hook. At the bottom, a metal plate is attached with the number "77", presumably an identification number for assignment to a specific miner. The lamp measures 27 cm in height and has a diameter of 8.6 cm.

The condition is generally good for an object of this age. The copper shows a beautiful, natural patina with colorful discolorations in bronze, blue and purple tones, created by oxidation over the years. The glass cylinder is intact and the metal guard bars are in good condition.
