Three reasons to take an interest: it’s an official Maserati item rarely offered, it’s a fully functional genuine cigar cellar, and it’s a piece you don’t come across twice. Maserati enthusiasts, cigar lovers, purists of singular objects: everyone will find something to suit them.

Official Maserati cigar box, included with the purchase of a 2007 Maserati Quattroporte. Glossy night-blue lacquered wood, chrome-plated trident affixed on the lid. These accessories were produced in small batches for the brand’s network and are almost never found on the used market. No catalog, no reissue: when they come back, it’s one by one.

A complete cigar cellar, not a decorative object
Completely cedar-lined interior, removable divider allowing organization of modules and cigars. Capacity of about 50 to 75 cigars. Front key lock with the original key, hinges in good working order, bottom lined with felt to avoid marking furniture.

Double humidification with two foam humidifiers, including the one originally supplied with the box — an important point, because it is almost always the first piece to disappear from this type of cellar.
Double hygrometric control with two independent analog hygrometers, which allows cross-checking the readings and instantly spotting any drift.

The Bell & Ross hygrometer
The second hygrometer is signed Bell & Ross. Copper-toned dial, clear reading, instrument-panel aesthetic that quite well fits the automotive spirit of the whole. It is a sought-after accessory in its own right, and enthusiasts buy it separately at a non-trivial price. Here, it is included in the lot.

Condition, and why I didn’t have it renovated
The set is complete and perfectly functional: lock, hinges, healthy cedar with no off odors, seals preserved. The lid’s lacquer shows its age — a network of micro-scratches visible in direct light, photographed without retouching or flattering lighting.

I deliberately chose not to touch it. Polishing removes material and is irreversible: once done, you can’t go back. I prefer to deliver the original lacquer, never refinished, and leave this choice to the buyer. For information, the operation can be done in about an hour at any detailing workshop, for a modest sum. The asking price takes this state into account: you are not paying for a restoration you didn’t choose, and you won’t discover anything at delivery that the photos don’t already show."}
