Description from the seller

A0000003792

The Montblanc 644 fountain pen we present is in a very attractive state of preservation, showing an elegant and well-maintained presence that reflects careful use over time.

The body and grip are made of high-quality black resin, preserving a deep and uniform shine. Very subtle micro-scratches typical of a vintage piece are visible only up close, but overall the material remains very well preserved, with no cracks or deformations and a clean overall aesthetic.

The gold-plated metal cap presents a very characteristic natural patina that gives the piece a pleasant vintage character. The surface shows even and elegant wear, with soft marks from the passage of time that do not affect the cap’s structural integrity. The clip retains its correct shape and functionality, preserving good fit and alignment.

At the very top of the cap the Montblanc emblem is clearly visible, well defined and properly seated. The model number “644” engraving on the barrel remains visible, contributing to correctly identifying this reference within the brand’s classic series.

The original Montblanc 14-karat (14C) gold nib is in very good condition, with crisp engravings and no structural deformations. The tip shows correct alignment and retains its proper shape, displaying normal signs of use compatible with the piece’s age.

The ebonite feed appears clean and well preserved, maintaining its intact structure and ink feeding function.

The pen has been serviced and tested, delivered fully functional and ready for use, as is customary for pieces prepared by Collecting Legacy.

Overall, this is a Montblanc 644 with a very attractive vintage aesthetic, where the patina on the metal cap adds character without compromising the piece’s good overall condition.

Conservation Recommendations

To keep this fountain pen in optimal condition, use high-quality inks specifically designed for fountain pens, avoiding pigmented inks or those with particulates. If not used for an extended period, it is advisable to clean it with lukewarm water, dry it completely before storage, and keep it in a dry place, away from direct light and extreme temperatures. The mechanism should be operated gently at all times to ensure proper durability.

It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
