Suggestive sculpture depicting two winged cherub heads, entirely carved by hand in solid olive wood. Italy, first half of the twentieth century.
Noteworthy is the craftsmanship of the sweet faces and the large wings, defined feather by feather, adorned by the beautiful natural grain of the olive wood. Elements of this type traditionally found use as over-door friezes, altar decorations, or architectural elements.
