The screenplay was written by Walter Schneider. In the Federal Republic of Germany, the film was first released in cinemas on January 20, 1966.

The municipal council of the idyllic village Jonkborn in the inland of Sweden wants to open the village to tourism to tap a new source of income. The Ministry of Tourism has already promised financial support if certain conditions are met. The advertising expert Leif must advise the municipality. Mayor Nils Hansen conceives the idea of turning the spring in the nearby forest, which the locals fondly call the "spring of love", into an attraction. A poster is quickly designed showing a naked woman in a bath and the text reads: "The Love Spring of Jonkborn gives men strength and women beauty!"
